memories of that summer night haunted me as i painted these translucent forms drifting in dark waters. the way their bodies seemed to hover between states of being and non-being, like spirits caught in amber, spoke to the fragility of existence. scattered around them, fragments of their former lives float like constellations in an endless void. the inspiration came from studying renaissance paintings of floating figures, but viewed through the lens of modern tragedy. i wanted to capture that liminal space where physical form meets metaphysical transformation, where the mundane becomes transcendent through loss.
