memories of ancient ice sheets haunted me as i painted this piece. the way the geometric cracks spread across the frozen landscape reminded me of watching glaciers calve in the arctic - except here, the ice was shattering into perfect crystalline patterns, as if nature itself was being consumed by sacred geometry. the mountains rose like silent guardians, watching this mathematical plague spread across their domain. i wanted to capture that moment when the organic world surrenders to something more precise and alien, yet hauntingly beautiful. the golden light bleeding through the cracks felt like time itself was leaking out of the scene.
